Can we bring a school or work group to The Crux?

What is included for a school group?

A safety briefing and an instructor introduction, then climbing over padded matting. Sessions typically run 60 minutes and can be tailored.

• Secondary school groups. No ropes and no harnesses anywhere in the session.
• Teachers and supervising staff attend free.
• One-off excursions, multi-week programs and holiday programs are all options.
• A session can run in normal hours or as a private exclusive booking.

What is included for a work group?

The same climbing, pitched at all skill levels. No experience and no gear needed, with shoes and chalk provided.

• Facilitated coaching can be added.
• Coffee and refreshments from our cafe can be added.
• The private function space and gear hire are both available.

What do you need from us?

Numbers, a date and a waiver for every climber. Send us the names and we will tell you which waivers are still outstanding.

• Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to complete their waiver.
• The minimum climbing age is 6, and 6 to 15 year olds need adult supervision.
• The waiver sits on our membership and pricing page.

How do you book?

Get in touch. Groups of 15 or more, and any event, are arranged with us rather than walked in.

• Email or call us with your numbers and the date you want.
• Per-head rates depend on the size of the group, so ask us for a quote.
• Smaller groups do not need to book at all. Walk in any time we are open.

What else is on site?

A full cafe, a private function space, a gym-equipment area and the Grasshopper training board.

• The cafe does espresso, chai, chocolate, matcha and a drinks fridge.
• The function space can be booked alongside a group session.
• We are at 20 Louvain Street, Coburg North, about 8km north of the city.
